Gerard Hoffnung. 프로필: German artist and musician, best known for his humorous works, born 22 March 1925 in Berlin, Germany and died 28 September 1959 in London, England, UK. I first heard Gerard Hoffnung's Oxford Union address in my youth on a Los Angeles fine arts radio station and never forgot it. I happened on this CD while searching the web for a recording of The Brick Layer's Lament. It's a wonderful recording by one of Britain's foremost but rarely heard humorists just a year before his untimely death at age 34, and I treasure it. It's a great companion to the Halas & Batchelor animated musical cartoons of the Tales from Hoffnung that were produced for British TV in the mid-1960s and are available on a PAL.
